From 2025, a new micro-adventure at Duckwing: packrafting on and around the Dijle in the beautiful Grape Region, part of the Brabantse Wouden National Park!

What is packrafting?

A paddling sport in which you explore local waterways and surrounding nature reserves with a lightweight, inflatable, yet robust boat (=packraft). Thanks to the unique characteristics of the packraft, you can effortlessly take it with you on a trip. And all this in a backpack provided by us.

Alaska is considered the birthplace of packrafting, dating back to sometime in the 19th century. In Europe, it is still a very young concept, but one that is on the rise.
It is, after all, an ideal way to bring together nature experience, adventure, and recreational exercise.

There are 1- and 2-person rafts. Due to their wide base, they are very stable, with little risk of capsizing and suitable for a wide audience. The lightweight packrafts are easy to take along on all forms of transport: on foot, by bicycle, kickbike, public transport, etc.
Renting a packraft is freedom in a backpack!

How?

You can choose from several routes with us: from easy to more challenging, each involving a section of hiking and packrafting. To do this, you first come to our location in Huldenberg at the agreed time, and we will provide you with all the necessary instructions and equipment.

The packraft sets consist of a packraft, paddle, and life vest, and come in a handy, waterproof backpack. There is still plenty of room in the backpack to store your own belongings.

The SOLO packrafts are available from age 15 (or minimum height 1.50m), the DUO packrafts are suitable for 1 adult and 1 child up to 15 years old (or a dog). Always with an appropriate life vest.
It is not easy for us to estimate your child's abilities based on age. Please do this yourself, based on the following criteria:
*weight solo packraft = approx. 5kg
walk between 4 and 12 km
paddling speed: 2-3 km/h

Prices:

daily rate: €55 per solo/duo packraft.
Dog life vest rental (15-30 kg): €7.
