Canoe safari weekend in the Ardennes

Looking for a unique weekend surrounded by nature? Staying in safaritents in the Belgian Ardennes, discovering the big 5 of the Ardennes? From the canoe you will discover the surroundings of the Semois: a meandering river where you can paddle quietly for hours and spot beavers, kingfishers, cormorants, buzzards,... but also underwater life. And this under the guidance of Frank, who will tell you a lot of interesting facts along the way!

A fully catered weekend on and next to the river and with a small group : that is active enjoyment in the beautiful nature of the Belgian Ardennes.
Experience is not required. Before departure, beginners receive extensive explanations with sailing and safety instructions + Frank is nearby during the entire trip.

How do the canoe weekends have place?

You arrive on Friday evening at our camp site in Bohan and are assigned your safaritent (or tent spot) on the banks of the Semois. We get to know the group and enjoy a cozy fire.
We sail about 3 to 4 hours per day with a picnic along the way. Meals are included.

Extra information

On both Saturday and Sunday, approximately 14 km will be sailed at a leisurely pace. Along the way we enjoy a picnic, the peace and nature. There is a fun quest for kids.

We stay 2 nights in safaritents with made beds, seats, lighting and electricity.
Spending the night in a teepee (with your own mats and sleeping bag) or your own tent is also possible, but places are limited for this.

Would you like to join your partner, friend, brother, sister,... but he/she would rather not participate in the canoeing? No problem, as a walker, cyclist, peace seeker,... you are also welcome! Overnight stays in a safaritent, meals and facilities are included, but during the day you arrange your own program.
If desired, your dog can also come along. Please contact us first.

Our weekends in the Ardennes can be described as relaxed and cozy, back to nature but still with the necessary comfort and everything included. Enjoy nature, company and outdoor life in a sporty way. In short, a great outdoor experience for young and old!

The groups consist of a nice mix of families, singles, some friends,... with a total of about 12 people. Cozy atmosphere guaranteed!

Welcome on Friday from 7 PM, the end of Sunday is expected around 3 PM.

Included in this canoe weekend:

*guidance by an outdoor specialist and instructions upon departure
*canoe for 2 days
*all material
*paddles, life jacket, waterproof bag
*lots of explanation about nature and animals along the way (with a quest for the kids)
*transport on site
*2 nights in a beautiful tent spot on the Semois in the Belgian Ardennes in a comfortable duo safari tent with made beds
*sanitary block with toilet (including toilet paper) and hot shower
*all meals from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon with extensive breakfast, "Duckwing sandwich" picnic and delicious BBQ from the plancha baking trays (we do ask that you do your own dishes)
*water with meals
*snacks
*use of climate-neutral and ecological swimming pool at 100m (in good weather) + playground
*use of the cozy covered outdoor area (which can be heated!) with kitchen and tables, chairs, pots, pans, plates, cutlery and glasses. So you don't have to bring anything with you.

Attention ! The safaritents are for 2 people. Tipi is for minimum 3, maximum 6 people.
If you have your own tent, tent spots are limited.
It is also possible to join as a non canoer at a reduced rate. 

Practical information

Our canoes are suitable for 3 or 4 people.
There is a supplement for exclusive use by 2 people: €45 per person. Without this supplement you will share the canoe with another participant.
Are you alone? No problem, but then you will share your tent and canoe, unless you come with your own tent.

Children are welcome from the age of 8 and if they can swim. There is a life jacket for everyone, including your dog (please inquire!).

The weekend will take place with a minimum of 8 participants.
You will receive further practical information (address, packing list, etc.) one week before departure.

Conditions for canoe weekend in the Belgian Ardennes

*advance payment is €55 pp, balance must be paid 1 month in advance.
*cancellation conditions: a deposit will be charged up to 4 weeks before departure, after which 100% costs.
*Duckwing is insured for professional liability but is not responsible for accidents on site. You can provide personal accident insurance yourself if you deem it necessary.
*in case of sailing ban (or bad weather conditions) we will provide an alternative program, e.g. fire workshop, search, outdoor game, kick bike tour,... or you can change dates according to availability. This will be announced in advance.
